Brazilian forests are portrayed in the first sector, dedicated to freshwater, where issues such as river pollution and endangered species are raised. In this 3-thousand-m2 hall, it is possible to see the famous young of albino alligators, which made Sao Paulo Aquarium internationally known since they are the only ones exhibited in the world, besides alligators, lizards, iguanas and snakes.
The oceanarium is a true dive into marine world. With over 1 million of liters of water, in this sector visitors come aboard a wreck submarine surrounded by sharks and rays. The mangrove, the coast and the rich variety of ocean species shapes and colors also delight visitors.
After walking through the Dinosaur Valley, with giant replicas of such creatures, and visiting the paleontology museum, the surprise comes with the giant bats from Java Island, Indonesia, and a funny visit to the North Pole with penguins being the main characters.
Finally, the Mammal Sector, a fascinating trip through the Amazon jungle. Huge viewfinders present the Tapajós, a young of manatee which can be seen from a vantage point right over a footbridge above the enclosure. Monkeys, toucans, otters and anteaters make this trip complete, which also features Thunder, a monk seal that loves to show his water tricks and waits for the visitors in a huge pirate ship.
